Stop 1: Tianzifang

Duration: 1 hour. At noon, I had lunch in Shippo and walked around simply. Take a break and head to Shanghai City God Temple.

Stop 3: Shanghai City God Temple

Attraction introduction

City God Temple, inside the temple is a Taoist temple. Enshrined are Huo Guang, Qin Yubo and Chen Huacheng three city gods.

The red wall mud tile is a typical southern ancient large house style architectural style. The City God Temple is next to Yu Garden.

Yu Garden is a private garden built during the Ming Dynasty. The greenery in the garden is clearly layered, which fully reflects the artistic style of the classical gardens of the Ming and Qing dynasties. However, it occupies a small area, and if you want to see the garden, it is still recommended to go to Suzhou.

The City God Temple and Yu Garden are surrounded by the entire pedestrian street. Now the City God Temple, Yu Garden and Commercial Street are collectively known as the City God Temple Tourist Area.

Stop 4: The Bund in Shanghai

From the City God Temple, walk for about 15 minutes to reach The Bund.

It is very close to Nanjing East Road. It’s just that the road of East Nanjing Road and People’s Square is a bit long and can be placed the next day.

Coming out of the City God Temple to The Bund, you will pass an ancient city park. Even in the middle of winter, the park is full of greenery. Unaffected by the weather, still alive.

Attraction introduction

The Bund, located on the banks of the Huangpu River in Shanghai’s Huangpu District, is a historical and cultural district in China.

Since 1844, this area of The Bund has been classified as a British concession, which has become a true portrayal of Shanghai’s Ten Mile Ocean Field.

The Bund is also the starting point of the old Shanghai concession area, as well as the beginning of the entire modern city of Shanghai.

The Bund is now a symbol of Shanghai.

Especially at night, standing on the Bund Scenic Avenue and watching the night view of Lujiazui opposite is very shocking.

To see the night view of The Bund, you can also choose the nearby Waibaidu Bridge.

Transportation: There is no subway near the Bund. There is an option to take a taxi. Or walk from Yuyuan Garden Metro Station to the Bund or walk to the Bund from East Nanjing Road Metro Station.

Tips

  • The Bund lights on at 17:30 in winter, and later in summer. The lights on The Bund are turned on every night, and the lights are turned off at 22:00 on weekdays, and later on major holidays.
  • To go to the Lujiazui business district on the other side of the river, you can take the ferry directly (3 yuan / person, you can use the Shanghai Metro card). Walk for about 15 minutes to reach the Oriental Pearl Tower.
  • You can also take the double-decker sightseeing bus, which costs 30 yuan per person.

Stop 5 Shanghai Oriental Pearl Radio and TV Tower

Attraction introduction

The Oriental Pearl Tower stands in Lujiazui, Pudong, Shanghai, across the river from The Bund. The Oriental Pearl Tower is a landmark of Shanghai.

Take the fully transparent sightseeing elevator and climb to the 351-meter-high capsule sightseeing floor, which can provide an unobstructed view of the scenery on both sides of the Pujiang River.

Climb the tower depending on personal preference, choosing day or night.

Stop 6: Shanghai Urban History Development Exhibition Hall

The museum reflects the changes in Shanghai’s modern history. The exhibition area is 10,000 square meters.
